SANGRIA w/ Fresh FRUIT

TABLE OF CONTENTS: BEVERAGES

Requires overnight refrigeration before serving.

Here it is, Georgeanne!  This recipe was requested by a viewer of my MagnoliaCollectionRecipes.com website to add to my Internet cookbook blog for all

to enjoy.

1 bottle dry, red wine

1 oz. Triple Sec

1 cup brandy, plus a little extra

½ cup lemon juice

½ cup sugar

Orange slices

Lemon slices

Lime slices

1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced

1 ½ cups club soda

In a serving pitcher, mix red wine, Triple Sec, brandy, lemon juice, and sugar.  Stir long enough to allow the sugar to completely dissolve.  Add orange,

lemon, & lime slices.  Cover and refrigerate overnight.  One hour before serving, sprinkle strawberries with extra brandy; then add to the Sangria.  Just

before serving, add the soda and stir.

The recipe can be tripled for a punch bowl.  Other available fresh fruits that are suitable can be added – peaches, nectarines, papayas, mangos, etc.

A friend gave this recipe to me from Canada, Rose Mary Bannon!  She and her husband, Mike, live in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.   OK, so

Canada/Sangria?   A strange & funny combination, but an outstanding recipe.  It reminds me of the Sangria from a wonderful Cuban restaurant in Little

Havana in Miami named The Versailles.  Now I am thoroughly confused….  Canadian Sangria and a French-named restaurant in the Cuban section of

Miami, FL.  I promise that I have not, yet, been drinking the stuff!  But, soon…. Tell me if you like it.
