6 chicken fillets


Freshly ground black pepper

4 tsp. pepper jelly

1 tsp. soy sauce, plus extra to use as drops on fillets

3 large fresh green onions, split lengthwise in half

2 to 3 oz. cream cheese, softened

¼ tsp. paprika, plus extra to sprinkle

Cocktail picks






Salt and pepper the chicken on both sides.  Put ½ tsp. of pepper jelly on each chicken fillet and “dot-it” around the fillet.  Place the halved green onion in the center of the fillet, and pour 4 to 5 drops of soy sauce on each fillet.  Roll the fillets to allow the green onion half

to protrude from each end, then secure with cocktail picks.


In a small bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with 1 tsp. of the pepper jelly, 1 tsp. of soy sauce, and the paprika.  Evenly, put small dollops of the cream cheese mixture on the rolled chicken fillets.  Sprinkle with paprika; then bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.

Makes 6 rolls.


The following pictures have nothing to do with the recipe.  Just thought you might get a kick out of a very unusual restaurant that we visited in the city of Dubrovnik, Croatia.  You will have to look closely at the photos to identify for the chrome tables and chairs placed on the rock terraces below the old city walls.  Surely this would truly qualify as an “open-air restaurant”!  The Adriatic Sea crashing against the city walls while you lunched was absolutely fascinating.   Can you tell that I love to travel?
